How to Refer a Patient to NBST
North Brisbane Sleep and Thoracic (NBST) provides comprehensive diagnostic and consultative services for sleep and respiratory disorders. We value the collaborative relationship between GPs and the specialists practicing at our North Lakes and Clayfield locations.
To ensure patient data is transferred securely and integrated directly into our clinical systems, please review the preferred digital referral pathways here.
1. Medical Objects (Preferred Method)
For the fastest and most secure processing, we recommend sending referrals via Medical Objects.

Urgent Referrals
If a patient requires urgent assessment, please clearly mark the referral as URGENT.
To expedite priority triaging:

Important Information for Referrers
Improving the Patient Experience
To assist with the seamless transition of care, we kindly request the following:

Direct Submission: Please send the referral directly to NBST on behalf of the patient. This is particularly important for elderly patients or those requiring additional support, as it allows us to initiate the booking process proactively.

Copy for Patient: Please provide the patient with a physical or digital copy of their referral for their own records and to bring to their initial consultation.

Pre-existing Conditions: To assist the specialists in clinical triaging, please ensure all pre-existing conditions and current medications are clearly indicated on the referral.
