North Brisbane Sleep & Thoracic supports GPs and specialists referring patients for sleep and respiratory specialist care, sleep studies and lung function testing.
Services are available across North Lakes and Clayfield, with referrals accepted for a specific physician or to NBST for the next available appointment.

Does your patient need urgent assessment?
Please clearly mark the referral urgent, send it through medical objects, then call the NBST administration team on 1300 391 820 so it can be flagged for priority triage.
How to refer to NBST
Medical Objects
Medical Objects is NBST’s preferred method for sending referrals securely and directly to the practice.
Search for: North Brisbane Sleep and Thoracic
Sending the referral directly to NBST allows our team to review it and contact the patient to arrange their appointment.

Download and save the NBST RTF referral template and import it into your practice software. Complete and then send directly to NBST.

Important information for referrers
Send referrals directly to NBST
Where possible, please send the completed referral directly to NBST rather than asking the patient to deliver it. This allows our administration team to contact the patient and assist with arranging their appointment. It can be especially useful for older patients or people who may need additional support.
Give the patient a copy
Please provide the patient with a physical or digital copy of their referral for their records.
Include relevant clinical information
Please include relevant pre-existing conditions, current medications and clinical information that may assist with triage.

Referrals may be addressed to a specific independent Sleep or Respiratory Physician consulting at NBST, or to North Brisbane Sleep & Thoracic for the next available appointment.
